2005 FHWA Accelerated Bridge Construction Conference

Fish Passage Summit
February 15-16, 2006, Denver, CO
This FHWA summit will bring together participants to discuss state-of-the-art techniques for designing and retrofitting road-stream crossings to ensure fish passage. Presentations will cover such topics as fish passage assessment, retrofitting of culverts, and design of fish crossings, as well as case histories of fish crossing installations and monitoring.

Third International Conference on Bridge Maintenance, Safety, and Management
July 16-19, 2006, Porto, Portugal
The conference will cover such topics as bridge repair and rehabilitation issues, bridge management systems, and bridge-related safety and risk issues. The conference is designed for bridge engineers, consultants, contractors, and university researchers, among others. Sponsors include the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), Colorado Department of Transportation, American Society of Civil Engineers, and FHWA.

Fifth National Seismic Conference on Bridges and Highways
September 18-20, 2006, San Francisco, CA
The conference is the fifth in a series of biennial events sponsored by FHWA. Caltrans and the Multidisciplinary Center for Earthquake Engineering Research are co-sponsors of the event. The conference is designed to increase awareness of seismic and geological hazards and to enhance the technical expertise of engineering professionals, so that they can mitigate the risk of failure or damage to bridges and highways. The conference will provide a forum for sharing research findings and insights from completed infrastructure projects. A technical tour of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge construction project will also be featured.
