Individuals under the age of 25 comprised 37.7 percent of persons arrested in nonmetropolitan counties. Those under the age of 21 accounted for 22.4 percent, persons under the age of 18 represented 8.8 percent, and the remainder were under the age of 15.
Of the arrests for violent crimes in nonmetropolitan counties, 36.0 percent were persons under the age of 25, and 21.4 percent were persons under the age of 21.
More than half (52.3 percent) of persons arrested for property crimes were under the age of 25.
