In 2007, nearly 40 percent (39.8) of arrestees in metropolitan counties were under the age of 25. This age group accounted for 45.0 percent of all arrests for drug abuse violations.
Nearly 25 percent (24.9) of arrestees were under 21 years of age. Persons under age 21 accounted for 49.4 percent of robbery arrests.
Slightly more than 12 percent (12.1) of arrestees were persons under age 18. Persons in this age group accounted for 40.6 percent of arson arrests.
Persons under age 15 accounted for 3.2 percent of all arrestees in metropolitan counties. Persons under age 15 accounted for 22.6 percent of arson arrests.
