Notice of NIDA’s Intent to Change the Receipt Date for the NIDA Centers Program

Purpose

The purpose of this Notice is to inform the drug abuse research field that the receipt and review of  NIDA Centers program applications will be changed to a one time receipt per year starting in the year 2007.

The current guidelines "NIDA Research Center Grant Consolidated Program and Review Guidelines – October, 2003" (http://www.nida.nih.gov/Funding/GrantGuidelines_03.html) will expire on October 2, 2006. Therefore, the last receipt date of this program will be October 1, 2006.

NIDA intends to publish a new program announcement to continue the NIDA Centers of Excellence program.  This new announcement will describe the changes in the receipt and review. The first receipt date for the new program announcement will be in May 2007.
