Albuquerque - Official City Website

Interagency Coordination

Many private and public organizations play a part in how the city develops and functions. The Advance Planning division carries on a continuing relationship with numerous local and state government agencies responsible for physical and economic development, environmental protection, preservation, infrastructure development and service delivery activities that affect Albuquerque's evolving character. Progress made in community revitalization, resource protection and quality of life begins with coordination, coopertation and planning rooted in the value that the city is for everyone, and that we all have a vital place in determining the future.

What are the costs and benefits of choices we face in shaping the city's future? Another role of this division is to help answer the question in a comprehensive way, enabling us to know if social and economic and environmental benefits of particular development decisions outweigh the costs before decisions are made. Fiscal impact analyses are done for land use proposals that go to City Council so they might better understand the short and longer term consequences of the proposal before accepting it.
