2004 Southeast Region Minority Exporter of the Year

Kingston-Miami Trading Co. (KMT) was presented with the Minority Exporter of the Year award at the 22nd Annual Minority Enterprise Development Week Awards Luncheon (MED Week) held in Atlanta, Georgia. National Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) director Ronald N. Langston and regional director Robert M. Henderson presented various awards to minority enterprises operating out of the Southeast United States. Patrick A. Cha-Fong, President of KMT, was in attendance to accept the prestigious award on behalf of the company he founded in 1982.
The regional awards and recipients were:
- Advocate of the Year - Te'resa Williams, Toyota Manufacturing North America
- Construction Firm of the Year - Derothea "Dee" Wiliams, Dee Williams & Company, Inc.
- Manufacturer Firm of the Year - Evaristo Freiria, Universal Manufacturing Corporation
- Retail Firm of the Year - Henrietta Huntsman, Cherokee Office Supply
- Service Firm of the Year - Bruce Martin, Qualla Security, Inc.
- Supplier/Distributor of the Year - Julio Doble, Caribbean Signs Enterprises
- Exporter Firm of the Year - Patrick Cha-Fong, Kingston-Miami Trading Company
- Regional Director's Award - Leonard Jenkins, Jr., Elite Staffing Services of GA
- "Future" Minority Entrepreneur of the Year - Tiffany Woods, Alonzo A. Crim Comprehensive High School
- "Special" Minority Entrepreneur - Carolyn J. Wilbourn and Janice Wilbroun-Woods, Wilbourn Exclusives Designs, Inc.
