Medicare Policy Change Helped Boost Elderly Enrollment in Cancer Trials
(Posted: 12/19/2005) - Since the federal Medicare program revised its policy and began paying for the routine patient care costs of clinical trials, the percentage of patients using Medicare plus supplemental insurance to pay for their care during a clinical trial has increased, according to a study in the Journal of Clinical Oncology (published online Dec. 5, 2005).
