The Manila VA Outpatient Clinic is the only VA medical care facility located in a foreign country and is an integral part of the United States mission to the Republic of the Philippines. It provides ambulatory care to both American and Filipino beneficiaries. The facility also manages an outpatient fee-basis program which aims to provide eligible veterans with outpatient and inpatient care at accredited fee-basis medical facilities and providers in their community. Presently, the facility has 24 accredited fee-basis medical facilities and around 228 physicians situated among the 12 regions of the Philippines. Aside from medical care, the facility also conducts compensation and pension examinations. The OPC has 89 employees, 4 of whom are Americans. The annual cost of operating the Clinic is about $5 million.
