King County Board of Health (BOH)
Information about meetings

Meetings Open to Public. All regular and special meetings of the Board and Board committee meetings shall be open to the public, in accordance with RCW 42.30. The Board may order the removal of individuals who are interrupting the meetings and may adjourn and reconvene in another location as provided in RCW 42.30.050.

Date and Times: The King County Board of Health meets at 1:30 pm on the third Thursday of each month unless otherwise noted. Meetings are held in the King County Council Chambers unless otherwise noted on monthly meeting agendas.

How to receive a meeting agenda:

The Board's final agenda is prepared one week prior to each meeting and is available on the Board's website or by calling the Board office at 206-263-8560. If you would like to receive an advance copy of the agenda you can contact the Board Administrator [see BOH membership roster for contact information] and request that your name and mailing/e-mail address be added to our distribution list, or you can complete the "request to be added to the mailing list" form that is available at each Board meeting.

Notice of the agenda for each regular meeting is also communicated prior to the meeting via press release to the electronic and print media throughout the County.

How to get an item on the agenda:

The Board is interested in any issues that can influence and improve the health of King County residents. If you are interested in bringing a health related topic to the Board's attention, you may contact the Board Vice Chair, David Hutchison or the Board Administrator, Helen Chatalas. Public Comment Period. At each meeting, according to the usual order of business, the Chair shall call for general comments and invite persons wishing to testify before the Board to come forward. Persons wishing to testify before the Board are required to register on the sign in sheets provided on the day of the meeting. Persons testifying before the Board shall state their name for the record. The Chair may establish time limits for individuals who wish to speak. The Board may allow additional time for the submission of written testimony.
