The primary function of the Maps and Records Section is to provide information on City owned infrastructure. Most inquiries are asked by the public and consulting engineers. The section also receives inquiries from City and County Departments as well as State and Federal agencies. The public is mostly concerned with finding the locations of service lines that are servicing their properties. Inquiries from consulting engineers are usually used for design purposes tying in new subdivision infrastructure. The information provided is for all known City owned Public infrastructure; including storm sewer lines, paving, and street right-of-way widths. Other functions of the section include updating the City Street Map, Annexation Map, City Atlas Maps and custom maps.
