Oregon State Police (OSP) arrested a Dallas, Oregon man Wednesday on multiple aggravated theft charges related to allegations that he unlawfully kept approximately $180,000.00 of OLCC liquor sales at his Dallas-area store.

MICHAEL GENE MOLLGAARD, age 57, from Dallas, was arrested on ten counts of Aggravated Theft in the First Degree following an indictment by the Polk County Grand Jury. MOLLGAARD was the focus of a one-year OSP investigation that started November 2006 after an OLCC (Oregon Liquor Control Commission) audit discovered a substantial shortage of reported sales profits from his liquor store at 180 SE Mill Street in Dallas.

OSP Detective Gregg Withers arrested MOLLGAARD without incident at his Dallas-area home. MOLLGAARD was lodged in the Polk County Jail.

Questions regarding this case and pending court appearance(s) should be directed to the Polk County District Attorney's Office at (503) 623-9268.
