| OSP Meth Initiative Team Investigation Leads to Nine Arrests in Eugene | ||

Sergeant Alan Gilbert Criminal Investigations Division - Springfield Office: (541) 726-2536 ext. 205 Four people were lodged and five others cited on drug-related charges Friday morning after a search warrant was served at a Eugene-area property. On September 28, 2007 at approximately 5:00 a.m., Oregon State Police (OSP) narcotics detectives assigned to the Methamphetamine Initiative Task Force, Drug Enforcement Administration special agents, OSP SWAT members, and Eugene Police Department executed a search warrant at 3220 Elmira Road in Eugene related to an investigation into the illegal distribution of methamphetamine. The property had a residence, garage, several outbuildings and two camper trailers that were the subject of the search. OSP SWAT members initially secured the property with the assistance of members of Eugene Police Department. Ten individuals were found on the property and detained. One male attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended a short distance away. While in the process of searching the property and completing the investigation, a female drove upon the scene and was found to be in possession of methamphetamine. During the property search detectives located an unspecified amount of methamphetamine and marijuana, along with firearms and evidence consistent with the illegal distribution of methamphetamine. A total of nine individuals were arrested, four of which were lodged in Lane County Jail. The other five were cited to appear in Lane County Circuit Court.
