| Fatal Traffic Crash - Dethman Ridge Road south of Hood River | ||

Lieutenant Patrick Ashmore Oregon State Police - The Dalles Office: (541) 296-9646 One person died and a second received minor injuries early Saturday morning in a single vehicle fatal traffic crash in the 3600 block of Dethman Ridge Road south of Hood River. On September 8, 2007 at approximately 1:28 a.m. a 2000 GMC pickup driven by ANDREW STEWART PEARCE, age 28, from Hood River, was westbound on Dethman Ridge Road when it veered off the right shoulder, over-corrected and came back onto the highway. The pickup rolled and came to rest in a driveway on the north shoulder. PEARCE was not using safety restraints, was ejected and died from his injuries. Passenger ISAAC SMITH, age 20, from Hood River, received minor injuries and was treated and released from a local hospital. Safety restraint use information was not available. Oregon State Police troopers from The Dalles Area Command office are completing the investigation. Alcohol is a possible factor in this crash.
