Oregon State Police detectives have contacted next of kin of an adult male found deceased Friday night on the east side of Interstate 5 in the Woodburn area.  The body of BRUCE BRIAN GEROW, age 54, was found by a transient individual in bushes near the southbound off ramp at exit 271.  Preliminary investigation still indicates the death may be drug-related.

On June 1, 2007 at approximately 10:50 p.m. a transient found GEROW in the bushes east of the southbound exit 271 off ramp.  There were signs of drug use and no evidence of trauma or injury.  The Medical Examiner will have toxicology tests done to confirm the cause of death.  Investigators confirmed through a family member located out of state that GEROW was homeless and did not have a permanent address for several years.

Anyone with information regarding the investigation is asked to contact OSP Detective Dave Steele at (503) 378-3387.
