Sometimes you drive by a place a hundred times and never notice it's there. I suppose that's the very definition of a "hole in the wall," isn't it? Ralph's Great Divide, at 743 E. New York St., is quite possibly one of Indy's most famous yet... more
From the windows of our office, just a few steps from my desk, is an incredible view of Monument Circle and the Soldiers'&Sailors' Monument. Last Friday during the annual Circle of Lights event, the towering 284-foot structure was transformed... more
Howdy! A hearty shout out to fellow bloggers Ruth Holladay (recently recovered from eye-sight restoring surgery) and Susan Gillie (of Indieats). Good to see you two at the IMA!

Welcome back from the holiday weekend! I for one still feel I'm in a turkey [or pumpkin pie]-induced coma. But no matter -- the Indianapolis news keeps on coming in! The cover story in Indianapolis Monthly's December issue touts the Best of Indy-... more
Years ago, when our daughters were little, part of our holiday ritual was to bundle them up, put them in the car and do a driving tour of downtown and neighborhood light displays.

Popped over to the new Winter Market at 25th and Central last Saturday. While I would have liked to have seen more fresh produce (yes, I know it's winter), it was still a treat to see a who's who of market folk. Here's a shout out to Erin (City... more
I have always been a steak guy. Some people dowse their steak with ketchup (which always makes me cringe just thinking about) or even with a little steak sauce.. which is a little better, but for me... I have always have liked my steak plain with... more
Break out the poodle skirts and leather jackets. Mid-January, 2009, is being taken over by the 1950s. At least, in Central Indiana it is.
Nobody planned it this way. It's not a part of some cross-promotion. It just seems to be happening this way.

Nothing like it!
This is a wonderful hotel. The rooms are beautiful and exceptionally clean. The decor was unbelievable. I have never stayed in a hotel like this. The beds were extremely comfortable and luxurious. They even have a puppy that stays in the hotel (they are pet friendly, although there is no unpleasant evidence of pets). I am sure I will never be satisfied with any other hotel now. more
Great Food, Nice Atmosphere
Dined with our toddler and had quite a pleasant experience. The service and food were wonderful, though I thought some of the entrees were a little pricey. Full serving is a huge portion, though. There was a 40 minute wait at 6 p.m. on a Friday night, so go early or be patient. more
2nd time was just as good as the 1st
I had to go back - just for the portobella grilled cheese sandwich. It is SOOOOOO good. It wasn't quite as much fun because it's too cold to sit outside, but the indoor decor was warm and funky. Great value and huge portion sizes: I went with a group from my neighborhood, we all got different things and didn't have any bad comments. more
