  • In 2005, 39.9 percent of all persons arrested in metropolitan counties were under the age of 25, 24.5 percent were under the age of 21, 11.8 percent were under the age of 18, and 3.4 percent were under the age of 15.
  • Persons under 25 years of age accounted for 41.1 percent of all persons arrested for violent crimes and 53.0 percent of all persons arrested for property crimes in metropolitan counties in 2005.
  • Of all persons arrested in metropolitan counties for arson in 2005, 66.6 percent were under the age of 25, 57.8 percent were under the age of 21, 47.5 percent were under the age of 18, and 26.4 percent were under the age of 15.
  • In 2005 persons under the age of 21 accounted for 46.5 percent of all persons arrested for robbery and 44.3 percent of all persons arrested for burglary in metropolitan counties.
  • Persons under the age of 25 accounted for 45.0 percent of all persons arrested for drug abuse violations in metropolitan counties.
