A new Ordinance passed by City Council and signed by Mayor Martin Chavez allows people who own hybrid vehicles to park at any city parking meter without charge for the duration of the meter.

The vehicle will need to be registered with the city’s parking office, located in Room 510 Plaza Del Sol.  An identification sticker will be given to the operator, who will then place it on the left rear bumper or left rear window of the car.

However, the free parking doesn’t last all day.  Each meter has a time limit. That’s how long the hybrid vehicle can park there without getting a ticket.
