Description
The National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders(ANAD), formerly Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders, is an educational and self-help organization dedicated to alleviating the problems of eating disorders, especially anorexia nervosa and bulimia. The Association provides a variety of services to anorectics and their families, including counseling, provision of free educational materials, self-help groups for both the victims and their parents, educational programs, and referrals to therapists, hospitals, and clinics treating anorectics. ANAD encourages the inclusion of articles about eating disorders in various publications and participates in television and radio programs. All ANAD services are free, and referrals are available on request. ANAD has also encouraged research on anorexia and bulimia and has participated in research projects.

ANAD distributes educational materials about eating disorders to health professionals and other interested people in order to alert readers to the dangers of anorexia nervosa and bulimia and the value of early detection and treatment.
