Upcoming Conferences
- MTNCLIM 9-12 June,
2008 in Silverton, Colorado.
The MTNCLIM research conferences are sponsored by the Consortium for
Integrated Climate Research on Western Mountains (CIRMOUNT), and are
dedicated to mountain climate sciences and effects of climate variability
on ecosystems, natural resources, and conservation in western North
American mountains. MTNCLIM convenes every two years. A post-conference
workshop for natural-resource managers is held to address implications
of climate variability and climate change in conservation and resource
management. PSW scientist, Connie Millar, co-chairs CIRMOUNT.
- California
Energy Commission's 5th annual Climate Change Research Conference
- September 8-10, 2008, at the Sacramento Convention Center. Focusing
on the current science of climate change and California, this year's
conference again promises to be an exciting forum for discussion and
debate on climate change and emissions mitigation science and policy.
Distinguished keynote speakers will complement international and national
experts presenting their latest research. Past keynote speakers have
been James Hansen, NASA; Rajendra Pachauri, Chairman to the Intergovernmental
Panel of Climate Change; and Sir David King, Chief Scientific Adviser
to the UK Government.
