Mr.
Doug Zahn of Crystal Valley, Arkansas has been a cooperative observer for the National Weather
Service for 25 years. He has measured precipitation and mailed his
measurements to the National Weather Service at the end of each month. These
measurements are sent to the National Climatic Data Center in Asheville, North Carolina
and eventually published to become a part of the permanent record of the world's weather. For his efforts,
Mr. Zahn received a 25 Year Length-of-Service Award in December, 2006. Besides
taking weather observations, Mr. Zahn restores antique cars and has built
a garden railroad. This is an outdoor railroad with miniature
engines and cars that are remote controlled. |
