Ms. Dean L.
Walls of Des Arc, Arkansas has been a cooperative observer for the National Weather
Service for 15 years. She has been instrumental in observing and reporting temperatures
and rainfall in her area. She mailed her measurements to the National Weather
Service at the end of each month. These measurements are sent to the National
Climatic Data Center in Asheville, North Carolina and eventually published to become a
part of the permanent record of the world's weather. Ms. Walls is also a valuable source of
information in the severe weather verification program... providing reports when
necessary.
For her efforts,
Ms. Walls received a 15 Year Length-of-Service Award in July, 1999. |
