20 Yr Service Award

Mrs. Mary Bowen of McArthur, Arkansas has been a cooperative observer for the National Weather Service for 20 years (as of December, 2005). She has been instrumental in observing and reporting rainfall in her area, and has mailed her measurements to the National Weather Service at the end of each month.  These measurements are sent to the National Climatic Data Center in Asheville, North Carolina and eventually published to become a part of the permanent record of the world's weather.

Mrs. Bowen has also been very helpful in severe weather situations.  She has taken the time to report severe weather in her area, with the information used by the National Weather Service to issue more accurate warnings.

For her efforts, Mrs. Bowen received a 20 Year Length-of-Service Award from the National Weather Service.
