50 Yr Institutional Award |

Weather
observations have been taken at the Blakely Mountain Dam (Garland County, Arkansas) for 50
years as of June, 2001. Employees at the dam have taken daily measurements of temperature,
precipitation and evaporation. River readings are recorded as well. These measurements are
eventually sent to the National Climatic Data Center in Asheville, North Carolina and
published to become a part of the permanent record of the world's weather. For their efforts,
employees at the Blakely Mountain Dam received a 50 Year Institutional Award. |
