AIDS/HIV Resources

DHS HIV/AIDS Site
The mission of the Oregon HIV program is to reduce the spread of HIV and promote the health of HIV-infected Oregonians, using scientific principles of public health and working in partnership with other agencies and individuals.

Divisions of HIV/AIDS Prevention
National Center for HIV/AIDS prevention, which provides national leadership in helping to control the HIV epidemic by working with community, state, national and international partners in surveillance, research, prevention and evaluation activities.

Know HIV/AIDS
Get information about HIV testing, prevention, counseling, volunteering, and support, as well as links to national organizations and informative Web sites that will put you in touch with just about any information you might need to know about HIV/AIDS.

Resource Guilde for Persons with AIDS
The idea for the Multicultural HIV/AIDS Alliance of Oregon (MHAAO) came about in 1994 during a networking meeting for people of color at the annual statewide HIV prevention conference, in recognition of the need to address and to help develop effective prevention programs geared to all populations.

The Oregon Food Bank
The Oregon Food Bank is a hunger-relief network covering the entire state. OFB collects and distributes food to 18 independent regional food banks, and manages two distribution centers (Portland and Hillsboro).

NWRPCA works to ensure equal access to high quality primary care for all residents living in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Alaska.

Obesity - American Obesity Association
The leading organization for advocacy and education on obesity.

OMPRO
A physician-led, nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality and effectiveness of health care in the Pacific Northwest. OMPRO collaborates with practitioners, providers, public agencies and private organizations on a wide range of health care improvement projects and programs.

Oregon Crisis Pregnancy Center
Oregon resources for pregnant women and their babies.

Oregon Dental Society (ODA)
A list of Oregon's 16 component dental societies; many cities are located within each society, as well as membership application contacts.

Oregon Medical Association (OMA)
The Oregon Medical Association serves and supports physicians in their efforts to improve the health of Oregonians.

Oregon Medical Insurance Pool
The OMIP, established by the 1987 Oregon Legislature, provides medical insurance coverage for Oregonians who are unable to obtain medical insurance because of health conditions. It also provides health benefits portability coverage to Oregonians who have exhausted COBRA benefits and have no other portability options available to them.

Oregon and National Hospital Information
This Oregon Association of Hospitals and Health Systems (OAHHS) site includes all kinds of health-related information.

Oregon Primary Care Association (FQHCs)
The Oregon Primary Care Association is a non-profit member association that provides advocacy on public policy and assistance to members in order to help decrease health disparities and increase access to comprehensive health care for low income and vulnerable people in Oregon.

Oregon Tobacco Quit Line
A free telephone service available to all Oregon residents who want to stop using tobacco, providing information, counseling and referrals.

Tobacco-Free Coalition of Oregon (TOFCO)
TOFCO is a statewide coalition of businesses, organizations and individuals who advocate for programs and policies that will decrease the toll of tobacco-use in Oregon.

Tobacco Prevention and Reduction
The American Lung Association of Oregon is one of Oregon's leading advocates in tobacco prevention and tobacco-use reduction.
