Project Update August 2008
Under Construction
John Day Boat Ramp- Located in Clatsop County, this facility is receiving a much needed parking lot upgrade and will be completed by the end of August 2008. For further information call 503-325-9306.
 
Gull Point and North Wickiup - Located in Deschutes County on Wickiup Reservoir both of these facilities, under the supervision of the US Forest Service, are receiving new boat ramps and improved parking areas. The North Wickiup site is also receiving new boarding floats. This project is scheduled for completion by late fall. For further information call 541-383-4000.
 
Willow Point- Located in Jackson County on Howard Prairie Lake, this facility will be receiving a new boat ramp, boarding floats and parking area. Jackson County Parks is managing the project. This project is scheduled for completion the end of October.  For further information call 541-865-3229.
 
Wolf Creek- Located in Union County, Wolf Creek Reservoir has only one access site for boaters and it is getting some much needed attention. If you visit later this fall you will see new boarding floats and a new concrete ramp. This project is scheduled to be completed by the end of October. For further information call 541-963-1001.
 
Miller Island- Located on the Klamath River in Klamath County, this facility is receiving a new boat ramp and boarding floats. Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife is monitoring this project, which is scheduled to be complete by October 4, 2008 - the first day of duck season. For further information call 541-883-5521.
 
Memaloose Point- Located in Tillamook County on Tillamook Bay. A previous grant for Memaloose Point in 2007 involved dredging around the boat ramp and this year the County will have new boarding floats installed. The project should be completed by mid-September. Beaver Landing- Located in Columbia County on the Clatskanie River this facility is receiving a new concrete boat launch and boarding floats. Work is expected to be completed by the end of September 2008. For further information call 503-392-2353.
 
Holcomb Park- Located in Baker County on Brownlee Reservoir, this project involves the installation of a new 6-stall restroom. This project is being funded by boater dollars, Baker County and the Oregon Parks & Recreation Department. This project is expected to be completed by October. M. James Gleason- Located in Multnomah County on the Columbia River this facility is maintained by METRO. This facility is going to have a new debris boom. The structure will protect the existing boarding floats and ramp from debris flowing down river. This project is being funded by BIG (Boating Infrastructure Grant a federal program), METRO and boater dollars. This project will involve closing the ramp for boater access from late fall until May. Projects Completed
Moore Park 1 – Located in Klamath County and operated by the City of Klamath Falls. This facility sits on Upper Klamath Lake, now has a new restroom facility and parking area. This project was funded by boater dollars and the City of Klamath Falls. Last year this facility received new boarding floats and is a “must see” site for boating in Klamath Falls. Sunnyside Park- Linn County Parks Department is responsible for this great boating facility. Located on Foster Reservoir, it is one of five reservoir access sites operated by the County. This year Linn County, with help from boater dollars, installed new boarding floats. This is a beautiful facility with lots of fishing opportunities! This project was completed in the spring of 2007.  For further information call 503-967-3917.
 
Nehalem Bay- Another great fishing opportunity in Tillamook County is Nehalem Bay - where the County has just installed boarding floats, a new gangway, and has improved the parking area. This project was completed with funds from Tillamook County and boater dollars. It was completed in the spring of 2007. For more information call 503-322-3477. (Pictured -Right)
 
Detroit Lake- Located in Marion and Linn Counties the Oregon State Parks & Recreation Department recently installed new boarding floats at its G Loop boat launch within the park. This is a great facility for day use boaters and campers alike with excellent fishing and boating opportunities. For further information on this and other state parks in Oregon, call 800-551-6949.

 
Hyak Park- Located in Benton County along the Willamette River just outside of Albany. Benton County Parks, with the help of boater dollars, received a much needed upgrade to the parking area.
