Responding to requests to be able to camp closer to the lake, Colorado State Parks announces the opening of the South Shore Campground.
Each of the ten sites in the campground has a shade shelter or trees, picnic table and fire grill as well as a stunning view of the lake and nearby mountains. All sites are within walking distance of the lake and South Shore trailhead.
These basic sites--no electricity or water--are ideal for self-contained units, tent campers or those who prefer a more primitive experience. Hot showers, laundry facilities and dump station near the main campground are available to South Shore campers. One site is handicapped accessible, four are pull-throughs and all sites may be reserved.
