EDX Employer Education is made up of two classes.
EDX Basics:
This course is designed for those new to a PERS reporting position with their employer, or with less than six months in that reporting position.
The course covers a review of web administrator and payroll specialist roles. The course also covers the EDX reports, their creation and submission, the types of records used in EDX reports, and procedures for editing records. In-class, hands-on exercises are given, and one-to-one time with the employer's ESC (Employer Service Center) account representative is provided.
EDX Intermediate Reporting Topics:
This course is best suited for those who have six months’ or more experience reporting PERS data through EDX.
A variety of EDX reporting concepts are covered, including eligibility, Contribution Start Dates (CSD), Leave without Pay (LWOP), FTE, and Avg. OT fields and their use. Included are reviews of the most frequent EDX reporting errors for 2007, the probable causes of those errors, and the suggested fixes.
One-to-one time with the employer's ESC (Employer Service Center) account representative will be provided to address any specific reporting problems. Please bring those reporting problems to this class.
Registration for all classes will be on line. E-mailed registration confirmation and a reminder three days before the class will be provided. Instructions for registration can be found at this link: www.oregon.gov/pers/emp/docs/edx_instructions.pdf
Please direct all registration questions or cancellations to: pers-employer.info.services@state.or.us Your ESC account representative will not be able to help you with class registration or cancellation.
