Emergence of some soybean and cotton fields was doubtful, and many will likely have to be replanted. Rice producers were having problems with blown out levees and flooding of fields being drained for control of water weevils. Fertilizing and herbicide and insecticide applications were delayed. Wheat farmers reported lodging in some fields due to the weather, but yields have been above average in harvested fields. Fruits, Vegetables, and Specialty Crops Report Vegetable growers continued harvesting greenhouse tomatoes and began strawberry field cleanup. Citrus producers were experiencing some fruit drop due to the large quantity of production. Livestock, Pasture, and Range Report Hay production was at a standstill due to heavy rains. Cattlemen were treating for horn flies and continued working spring calves.
