Some corn fields without irrigation were in danger of burning up in the northeast part of the state. Soybean producers were applying herbicides, although frequent rains in some areas were hampering spraying. Rice producers were spraying fungicides. Sugarcane farmers wrapped up most of their cultivation, although some producers were spraying with a high boy as wet weather hampered lay-by operations. Fruits, Vegetables and Specialty Crops Vegetable producers were busy harvesting and selling produce. Peach producers continued to harvest. Crawfish producers were draining their ponds. Livestock, Pasture and Range Report Cattle producers were working cattle and breeding cows. Cattlemen were fertilizing their pastures. Hot days, warm nights, and adequate rainfall were all helping pasture conditions, with 66% of pasture in good or excellent condition.
