Appraiser Certification and Licensure Board
The Appraiser Certification and Licensure Board (ACLB) licenses and certifies real estate appraisers in Oregon and develops and establishes appraisal education and experience requirements in accordance with state and federal law, standards and guidelines. The board was created in 1991 to implement Title XI of the Federal Financial Institutions Reform Recovery and Enforcement Act of 1989 (Public Law 101-73) in Oregon. The regulatory functions of the board are independent of other realty-related regulatory agencies. The ACLB consists of seven members, all appointed by the governor. Five of these seven members are real estate appraisers, one member represents the banking industry, and one member represents the public.
