Anyone or any company purchasing farm products for the purpose of processing or resale is required to be licensed. Food vendor license $50/yr, depending on sales volume.

Frozen meats and seafood are considered "potentially hazardous foods." Vendors may use an approved ice chest to transport and store prepackaged potentially hazardous foods, as long as the foods for sale are maintained at an approved safe temperature.

Package food sales are exempt from state state sales tax. HOWEVER, vendor must still obtain a state wholesale sales tax license. If operating in a county or state collected city that taxes food for home consumption, vendor must obtain retail sales tax license.

Local Licensing Authorities
Vendors must comply with all local licensing and regualtion requirements with every local government where they operate, including compliance with local zoning, peddler permits, business licenses and/or local sales tax licensing.
