Take the Correspondence Match program to the next level with the World Wise Connection.

 World Wise Schools Online Team

Peace Corps Volunteers collect photographs, video clips, and sound recordings from their sites that they share with their classroom partners in the United States. Best of all, teachers and students engage in lively online discussions with their Peace Corps Volunteers across the globe.

In 2000, Coverdell World Wise Schools released Water in Africa , a collaborative effort with the Department of Education. The project asked currently serving Volunteers to document their life and the use of water around them using a disposable camera, pen, and paper. The pictures and stories included on the World Wise Schools website.

Since then, both World Wise Schools and the Peace Corps community have become increasingly wired. Most Volunteers have some access to e-mail, while a growing percentage have Internet access at home. Tapping these resources yields immense educational value and responds to the growing demand for technology-based resources in U.S. classrooms.

Peace Corps Volunteers and classrooms are selected to participate based on their involvement in the Correspondence Match program, use of technology, and interest in sharing new cultural artifacts.
