Directions

We welcome your weather report.  For the information to be of maximum use to us, please submit your report as soon as possible, although delayed reports (less than two weeks) are usefull in verifying our forecasts and aid us in forecasting future events.

Please limit your submissions to events which are significant and impact travel or outdoor activities. If you have witnessed at least one of the following, we would like to hear from you:

• Total snowfall for an event: Two inches or more.
• Significant snowfall/depth: Four inches or more. Include the beginning and ending time of the event.
• Hazardous winter weather conditions.   Blizzard or near blizzard conditions. Blowing and drifting snow causing reduced visibilities and building drifts. Very cold temperatures.  Freezing rain or drizzle making roads icy. 
• Hail:Penny-sized or larger. Please do not use 'marble' to describe the hail size.
• Strong Winds: Wind gusts in excess of 50 mph. Indicate whether winds were measured or estimated by the observer.
• Tornado or Funnel Cloud: Please be as descriptive as possible and indicate whether the funnel appeared to be reaching the ground.
• Waterspout: Location (relative to some well-known landmark), and apparent movement.
• Flooding: Especially where water covers a road or highway or where damage to property is occurring or imminent.
• Damage: Weather-related damage to structures (houses, buildings, barns), trees or vehicles. 

All information submitted is voluntary, thought we may not be able to process the information without valid contact information.
In the message box below, please enter the following:

1. The EXACT date and time of the event. If estimated, please indicate.
2. The EXACT location of the event. Include the county the event occurred, and give reference to a town or a road/highway intersection (e.g. 2 miles south of Negaunee).
3. A brief description of what you saw.
4. Contact information if you want to talk about your report or if you have pictures or video. We may use your report in Weather Spotter Training.
