Flooding in Western Australia

In early March 2003, seasonal rains led to mild flooding across western Australia.

Seasonal rains fell across western Australia in late January 2003 and led to mild flooding along the Fitzroy River. Some of the flooding can be seen in this false-color image acquired on March 4, 2003, by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) instrument flying aboard NASA?s Terra spacecraft. In this false-color image, water is dark blue, dark turquoise, and black. Clouds are light blue and white, and the land is green and tan.
