Bennett Calls on Congress to “Get America Back in the Game” of Producing Energy

Says it’s time for Congress to pass the Gas Price Reduction Act

“What I want to do, what Republicans want to do, is get America back in the game by finding more and using less oil so we can bring the pricing power back on American shores,” said Bennett. “The Gas Price Reduction Act is the logical way to deal with supply and demand, get America back in the game of producing energy, change the expectations, and bring down the price at the pump.”

The Gas Price Reduction Act of 2008 (S. 3202), introduced by 44 Republican senators, would help solve our country’s long-term energy needs and address our high gas prices. The four provisions of the legislation include expanding deep sea exploration, repealing the Democrat moratorium on oil shale, increasing research for plug-in vehicles, and strengthening the U.S. futures markets.

A summary of the bill’s provisions is attached and can be accessed by clicking here.
