A note, located in the Roe v. Wade case file, written by Justice Blackmun to Justice Potter Stewart discussing when the abortion cases Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton would be publicly announced. The bottom of the note also contains a comment from Stewart. Dated January 16, 1973. (70-18 Roe v. Wade; Container 151, folder 3)

A page from the final transcript of Justice Blackmun’s oral history project. In the middle of the page Blackmun comments briefly on his career as an associate justice of the Supreme Court and as an appellate judge for the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. Near the end of the page, a bit of Blackmun’s humor is revealed as he explains how his ability to wiggle his ears delighted children visiting the Supreme Court more than hearing about the history of the Court.
