Smoke Screeners
Smoke Screeners
is an educational program that helps teach media literacy skills to young
people. This program improves their ability to critically analyze the messages they
receive about tobacco use in movies and on television.
The program, which includes a moderator’s guide and video, can be used
in either a classroom or youth-group setting.
This program was created in 1999 as a part of the youth initiative of the
Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s anti-smoking campaign and is now
a national effort.
