- WCAG 2.0 has achieved a broad consensus on the technical content. Test implementations are now in progress as the next step toward becoming a W3C Recommendation.
- Advisory Report Released on Update of Federal Accessibility Standards
- April 3, 2008 report to the U.S. Access Board recommended new accessibility standards for Federal government purchases of technology products (including websites) and also standards for accessibility of telecommunications.
- AOL Incorporates Real-Time Text in New Release of Instant Messaging
- This option is the product of collaboration between AOL, Trace, and Gallaudet, and enables real-time text conversation for deaf and hard-of-hearing AIM users.
- International Universal Remote Console Standards Adopted
- Adoption in January 2008 by ISO/IEC JTC1 is a key step towards implementation of international standards on universal remote console technology. The Trace Center has been instrumental in development of the URC technology and standards.
