| The grantees will conduct research according to the provisions provided in SAFTEA- LU (Public Law 109-59, August 10, 2005, 119 Stat. 1406) number 3891. The Department's role will be to manage the grants, provide technical collaboration, coordinate with the grantee to best address related DOT program needs and ensure that no unnecessary duplication of effort exists with other DOT projects. |

| Audits |
| In accordance with the provisions of OMB Circular No. A-113 (Revised June 24, 1997), Audits of States, Local Governments, and Nonprofit Organizations, nonfederal entities that expend financial assistance of $300,000 or more in Federal awards will have a single program-specific audit conducted for that year. Nonfederal entities that expend less than $300,000 a year in Federal awards are exempt from Federal audit requirements for that year, except as noted in OMB Circular No. A-113. |
