Welcome
The 23rd Annual International Conference on Technology and Persons with Disabilities has concluded and the staff at the Center on Disabilities wants to thank you for your participation.
A series of memorable events beginning with Jim Fruchterman’s inspirational keynote address, to Stevie Wonder presenting University President Jolene Koester with the Accessible Technology Pioneer Award from the California State University system, to Ray Kurzweil’s featured speaker presentation, made this a highly successful conference. More than 4,530 researchers, educators, practitioners, end users, speakers and exhibitors gathered together to share research data, best practices, and preview new products and applications. In conference surveys, participants lauded the outstanding experts who shared their knowledge with them in more than 300 speaker sessions, remarking that this may have been the best conference yet.
We look forward to next year’s conference – our 24th - to be held March 16-21, 2009 at the Los Angeles Airport Marriott and Renaissance Montura hotels and gathering together for another opportunity to further disseminate research and share practitioner knowledge in the field of assistive technology.
