Why CERT?
Severe Storms and Tornadoes, Floods, Fires or Explosions can strike at any time in any community. Police, Fire and Emergency Medical responders can be overwhelmed by the demands on their services. Families and communities must be prepared to help one another in the first hours and even days following a disaster.

Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT) can provide help to neighborhoods in the aftermath of disasters. They can treat injuries, search for and rescue victims, put out small fires before they become big ones and collect information that will be vital once emergency crews can arrive on the scene.
