To expedite processing time and favorable consideration, please take note of these common application errors:

  • Missing copies of itemized receipts showing what you purchased.
  • Do not send original receipts.
  • Do not send invoices that don't show payment received.
  • Receipts that do not adequately describe what was purchased.
  • Copies of receipts are not legible. Change the settings on your copier to make the copy darker before sending to the CG Foundation Manager.

  • Block 12 of application form should list the total marks score for your last EER. Example: Ldrship: 40, Prof: 36, Perf: 39, Mil: 12 = 127. Do not enter the SWE marks multiple from your PDE.
  • Missing CO's/OIC's and/or member’s signature.

Upon receipt of your application, we will send you a confirmation email within 48 hours so you will know we received it. We will also send you an email once your check has been mailed. Please know that any delay in processing is usually due to funds availability. If you do not hear anything after two months of receiving the "application received" email from the CG Institute, you are welcome to contact the CG Foundation Grant Manager for a status update.

Example Application Scenarios

Scenario 1

PO Ed Grant already submitted a CY08 CGFEG application & received the $350.00 maximum. He also has qualifying receipts for an extra $200.00 that are less than 12 months old. PO Grant should complete the new CGFEG & VPEG application form using one of the following methods:

Application Method A

List all of his previous items (for which he already received reimbursement this CY through the CGFEG) & new items on page 2 of the application. The form will calculate the total. He should enter the $350.00 of CGFEG reimbursement he already received, and any other reimbursement received for these items through CGMA SEG and/or any other reimbursement program, in the appropriate block on page two of the application form. The form will calculate the remainder which should be entered in the block for the VPEG amount requested.

Application Method B

List ONLY the new items on page 2 of the application and DO NOT enter the $350.00 of CGFEG reimbursement he already received. If he enters the $350.00 in this scenario, the calculations for VPEG reimbursement will not be correct. We will know that the application is for VPEG because he will have checked the VPEG box at the top of page 1 of application form. The CG Foundation Grant Manager will then pull the current CY CGFEG application & validate the member's eligibility.

Scenario 2

PO Grant already submitted a CY08 CGFEG & VPEG application & received $350 through the CGFEG but only $250 under the VPEG. At the time, he had incurred only $600 worth of qualified expenses. Two months go by & now he incurred an additional $300 of qualified expenses. He should complete the new CGFEG & VPEG application form using one of the methods described in Application Method A or B above.

Scenario 3

PO Grant has $500 worth of qualified expenses and wants to request VPEG reimbursement. He has not submitted an application for the CGFEG this year. He completes the CGFEG & VPEG application checking only the VPEG box on page 1. If the person signing for the command doesn't catch it, the CG Foundation Grant Manager will change the form to show reimbursement for $350 under the CGFEG & only $150 reimbursement under the VPEG. During the same calendar year, you must have received the maximum of $350 under the CGFEG in order to become eligible for any VPEG reimbursement.
