What's New In Public Safety

The Minnesota Department of Public Safety State Emergency Operations Center is activated and staff are actively monitoring the nationwide H1N1 Influenza situation. The Minnesota Department of Health has established a website that will be updated as more Minnesota-specific information becomes available. http://www.health.state.mn.us/divs/idepc/diseases/flu/swine/index.html

American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Funds

The Minnesota Office of Justice Programs will receive approximately $21 million dollars through the federal Office of Justice Programs in stimulus funding through the following three existing formula grant programs: The Byrne Justice Assistance Grant Program (JAG $18 million), Victims of Crime Act Funds (VOCA $1,190,000) and Violence Against Women Act Funds (VAWA $2,304,272)
