Opening Doors to Community Service

The purpose of The Opening Doors to Community Service Project is to assist persons with disabilities in understanding the opportunities available in AmeriCorps programs.  The goal is to increase the number of persons with disabilities serving in AmeriCorps programs and assist the AmeriCorps programs to utilize the pool of talented persons with disabilities available in Montana.  The project also provides technical assistance to AmeriCorps programs regarding accommodations for persons with disabilities. Through educational conferences, meetings with key leaders, the disability community, and Montana's AmeriCorps programs, the Opening Doors to Community Service Project will assist communities to provide inclusive service environments.
