Personnel Announcement

President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate two individuals and designate one individual to serve in his administration:

The President intends to nominate Dawn A. Tisdale, of Texas, to be a Commissioner of the Postal Rate Commission, for the remainder of a six-year term expiring November 22, 2006. Currently retired, Mr. Tisdale previously served in various positions within the U.S. Postal Service, including Postmaster in Smithville, Texas. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1962 to 1966, and later earned his bachelor's degree from St. Edward's University.

The President intends to nominate Marc M. Wall, of Virginia, to be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Republic of Chad. A career member of the Senior Foreign Service, Mr. Wall currently serves as Director of the African Affairs Bureau's Economic Policy Staff. Prior to this position, he taught at the National Defense University in Washington, DC. Mr. Wall previously served as an Economic Officer at the American Institute in Taiwan. He earned his bachelor's degree from Princeton University and his master's degree from Columbia University.

The President intends to designate Arden Bement, Jr., of Ohio, to be Acting Director of the National Science Foundation.
