Jeff Feingold Named National Small Business Journalist Of The Year

WASHINGTON, D.C. Mr. Jeff Feingold, editor of the New Hampshire Business Review, Manchester, N.H., has been named the National Small Business Journalist of the Year by the Office of Advocacy of the SBA. He received the award for his outstanding journalistic efforts on behalf of small business.
"Journalists like Jeff Feingold are crucial to Americans understanding the importance of small business," said Thomas M. Sullivan, Chief Counsel for Advocacy. "For over 26 years Jeff has gone beyond the requirements of his job to promote small business. Just this year, as editor of the New Hampshire Business Review, he has initiated the Business Excellence Awards to honor businesses with fewer than 100 employees. Hes a journalist that Im proud to know," he said.
The award is given to a journalist representing television, radio, electronic, or a print medium who has gone beyond job requirements to promote small business. Evaluation criteria include concerted efforts to increase public understanding of the importance of small business contributions to the economy, news stories, features, editorials, columns, and commentary that highlight small business issues, and voluntary community service enhancing small business opportunity and growth.
The Office of Advocacy annual awards include Entrepreneurial Success, Financial Services Advocate, Home-Based Business Advocate, Minority Small Business Advocate, Research Advocate, SBA Young Entrepreneur, Small Business Exporter, Small Business Journalist, Veteran Small Business Advocate, and Women in Business Advocate.
National Advocate award winners will be honored during the National Entrepreneurship Conference & Expo, held September 15-20, 2003, in Washington, D.C.
The Office of Advocacy examines the role and status of small business in the economy and independently represents the views of small business to Congress and the President. It is the source for small business statistics presented in user-friendly formats and it funds research into small business issues.
