CEO, Rose International, Chesterfield, Missouri
WASHINGTON, D.C. Mrs. Himanshu "Sue" Bhatia, Chief Executive Officer, Rose International of Chesterfield, Mo., has been named the National Entrepreneurial Success Award Winner of the Year by the Office of Advocacy of the SBA. She received the award for owning a business that started small, and with the help of the SBA, has grown large.
"The success of Sue Bhatia personifies the contributions immigrants have made to America, particularly through entrepreneurial success," said Thomas M. Sullivan, Chief Counsel for Advocacy. "By paying close attention to her clients needs, Mrs. Bhatia grew Rose International to a nationwide information technology staffing firm with 300 employees. Her success shows the power of small business to make a big difference," he said.
The award is given to an individual who owns and operates a business that was launched as a small business by SBA size standards, but has since developed and grown into a large business, and has received SBA assistance to help the business grow. Evaluation criteria include growth in employees, growth in sales, innovation, and contribution to the community.
The Office of Advocacy annual awards include Entrepreneurial Success, Financial Services Advocate, Home-Based Business Advocate, Minority Small Business Advocate, Research Advocate, SBA Young Entrepreneur, Small Business Exporter, Small Business Journalist, Veteran Small Business Advocate, and Women in Business Advocate.
National Advocate award winners will be honored during the National Entrepreneurship Conference & Expo, held September 15-20, 2003, in Washington, D.C.
