Background
Ben Sandford has worked as a mathematical statistician for more than 14 years. He joined NWFSC in 1988. Ben received a B.S. in mathematics from Central Washington University and an M.S. in statistics from Oregon State University.

Current Research
As a mathematical statistician, Ben provides statistical support for a number of FE projects including juvenile survival studies, Idaho wild chinook salmon transportation studies, fall chinook salmon at McNary Dam and avian-PIT tag recovery. He provides help with experimental design, determining required sample sites for test groups, summarizes data from large databases and conducts statistical tests on results.
