Suicide bombings in Iraq are among today's most pressing and puzzling issues. Although only one devastating component of the broad-based insurgency, suicide bombers are a critical part of the dilemma facing the U.S. government as it struggles to bring security in Iraq.
Who are these suicide bombers? Where did they come from? What are their motivations and goals? Why do they deploy this strategy and what will it take to stop them?
This event will focus on findings from USIP's newly-published book, Suicide Bombers in Iraq: The Strategy and Ideology of Martyrdom by Mohammed M. Hafez.
