NMFS Opens Three Rockfish Fisheries for Non-Exempt AFA Catcher Vesselsin Central and Eastern GOA The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is opening the directed fishery for Pacific ocean perch and northern rockfish in the Central Regulatory Area and Pacific ocean perch in the Eastern Regulatory Area of the Gulf of Alaska for vessels that are non-exempt under the American Fisheries Act (AFA). This opening is effective at 12 noon, Alaska local time, July 4, 2000, according to James W. Balsiger, Administrator, Alaska Region, NMFS. |
